AIB International Celebrates 100 Years and Evolution for the Future

For 100 years, we’ve partnered with clients to ensure safe, high-quality food for consumers around the world to enjoy. Through training, inspections and consulting, regulatory and certification services, our global team of food safety and quality experts is committed to supporting client confidence in every link of their supply chains. Through 2019, we’ve celebrated our century of service to the food industry, while also embracing our evolution to continue meeting the ever-changing needs of the industry.

As we plan for the next 100 years, we were excited to start the year by launching our brand refresh. At GFSI in Nice, France, we unveiled a new brand for AIB International that demonstrates our focus and commitment to our clients’ delivery of safe, delicious products to consumers every day.

This fall, we had a strong showing at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) in Las Vegas, where we were excited to announce the debut of VirtualInspector. This immersive training simulator prepares users to address food safety issues and document findings with corrective actions, helping facilitate a well-trained self-inspection team that is empowered to take ownership in their food safety programs.

While at IBIE, we also launched BakePro Certification, which takes convenient, customizable and cost-effective training and consulting directly to our baking client’s facilities. With this innovation, an AIB International expert travels to train your team and troubleshoot real-time challenges using your formulation, ingredients and equipment.

Supporting the continued evolution and expansion of our expertise, we added four new members to the board of our parent company, the American Institute of Baking (AIB). In November, we welcomed Thomas Benner, president/CEO of Lesaffre Corporation/Red Star Yeast Company; Michael Connolly, senior director of Snacks R&D, Campbell Snacks; Jo Anne Gabbert, president of JAG Portfolio Services; and Gary Mawby, vice president of supply chain, The Bama Companies Inc. We also added two new members to our AIB International Certification Services, Inc. board, including Deborah Shapos, quality assurance, food safety manager, Culinary Art’s Specialties; and Christina Tabata, director, quality assurance and food safety, Rubio’s Coastal Grill.

Each of these activities and many others throughout the year have helped chart our course as we continue our evolution in 2020, contributing to the next 100 years of partnering with clients around the world to ensure safe, high-quality food – everywhere.
