Challenging work in a stable industry
Dear prospective student,
The opportunities in the baking industry continue to grow for individuals
prepared to meet the changing needs of the consumer. Baked products are the
foundation of a healthy diet, and those of us involved in the baking industry
have enjoyed challenging careers that are stable despite occasional downturns
in the economy.
Most people don't appreciate the complexity of skills required to supply fresh,
wholesome bakery products to customers at a reasonable cost. Creating new products
requires knowledge of applied chemistry, ingredient functionality and nutrition,
government regulations, practical experience in production, and knowledge of
business concepts. The successful
production and marketing of all bakery products require these skills as well
as skills in maintenance and engineering. Modern food plants utilize high speed,
automated machinery that is often operated by computers.
AIB resident courses utilize the knowledge,
skill, and experience of professional staff to teach these skills that are
so critical to success. Our graduates are leaders in the baking industry and
they understand the positive impact of AIB training. For this reason, AIB
graduates are in high demand. Our students come from Japan, Korea, China,
Central America, South America, and Europe; and these international students
normally comprise over 30% of the class. In Japan alone, there are nearly 400
AIB alumni. The resident courses allow for an educational experience as
well as a unique, rewarding cultural experience. Companies around the
world know the value of the AIB resident courses.
If you are willing to work on developing marketable skills in a fairly
short period of time, AIB is the place to be.
Sincerely,
Kirk O'Donnell
