Consolidated Standards for Inspection
In use since 1956, the Consolidated Standards are the foundation of the world-renown AIB International inspection.
Written with multiple audiences in mind, the Standards serve two key goals:
- To provide a series of statements that represent key requirements that a food-processing or handling facility must
meet in order to keep the products in a facility wholesome and safe.
- To educate the users of the Standards on the meaning of the individual Standards, the inspection process, and how to have a successful
inspection.
Industry-Specific Standards:
The general requirements for the Consolidated Standards are captured in the baseline Standard, The Consolidated Standards for
Inspection of Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs. However, over time, AIB International has discovered that specific industry
segments demand specific requirements, and therefore AIB International has developed industry-specific Standards to meet client
needs. Here is a complete list of all Standards available to AIB International clients. Click on the Standard to read more or to purchase.

Which Standard Should be Used?
Manual vs Handbook
Each Standard will be available in two formats. The Manual is more of an educational reference document, while
the Handbook is intended to be a tool used "on the floor." The Handbook and Manual are designed to complement
each other, and together provide a complete reference, operating practice and training resource for inspection.
