SQF
The SQF (Safe Quality Food) Institute is a division of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), which was established to manage the SQF Food Safety and Quality Certification Program. An FMI Advisory Board provides overall policy advice, guidance, and direction to the SQF Institute.
AIBI-CB (AIB International - Certification Body) is a self-sustaining sector of AIB International. It is accredited by ANSI to conduct certification audits against the SQF 2000 Code. The SQF 1000 Code is pending accreditation.
SQF audits are conducted according to two codes, SQF 1000 and SQF 2000. Within both codes are three levels of certification. Each level is designed to indicate the stage of development of the producer’s food safety and quality management system. The standard also allows every supplier, regardless of size, to be eligible for certification. The focus is on risk assessment and prevention of food safety incidents and recalls.
- SQF 1000 (Pending Accreditation)
The SQF 1000 Code is designed to meet the needs of primary producers, including those involved in horticulture, produce, meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, coffee and cereal production, fishing, and aquaculture.
- Level 1 - Food Safety Fundamentals
- Level 2 - Certified HACCP Food Safety Plans
- Level 3 - Comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
- SQF 2000 (Full Accreditation)
The SQF 2000 Code is designed to meet the needs of food manufacturers, packaging manufacturers, distributors, and brokers.
- Level 1 - Food Safety Fundamentals
- Level 2 - Certified HACCP Food Safety Plans
- Level 3 - Comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
AIBI-CB provides highly qualified auditors with specific food sector category knowledge.
