Sanitation Program Assessment (SPA)

AIB International is responding to the needs of the food industry by introducing a new program called the Sanitation Program Assessment. As you are well aware, the days of having a full time plant sanitarian are long gone, with today’s plant sanitarian wearing many other hats including quality, food safety and even food defense.

Although the "doing more with less" has proven successful in many aspects, it has sometimes left a void in the sanitation program. For instance, how do you know if your chemical usage is consistent with your procedures? Is your labor consistent with your procedures? Are your sanitation personnel properly trained?

AIB International has developed a non-rated assessment that addresses these and many other questions. This assessment is conducted during your sanitation shift and focuses on three elements:

• Program and Budget
• Cleaning verification and compliance
• Food safety assurance

It then summarizes concisely and succinctly with an executive summary as well as the assessment.
